Riyadh: (RightNow) The Greek Patriot air defense system successfully thwarted a major drone attack in Saudi Arabia’s Yanbu region. This operation was conducted by Greek military personnel on Thursday.

According to Greek security sources, Greek military personnel stationed in Saudi Arabia carried out the operation with the cooperation of the Saudi air defense system. The Patriot system fired three missiles.

Security sources have stated that no information was provided about the exact number of drones or their origin. As a result of the attack, Saudi Arabia’s critical installations remained secure.

The Yanbu area is highly sensitive due to its large oil installations. Any attack here could potentially impact global oil supply.

It is noteworthy that due to concerns over drone and missile attacks in the Middle East, Gulf countries have increased their security measures.
