FBR issues 2026-27 withholding income tax rate card, imposing new rates on various sectors.
Islamabad: (RightNow) The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued the withholding income tax rate card for 2026-27. This card includes tax rates imposed on various sectors, payments, and transactions.
The rate card is updated according to the Finance Act 2026, effective until June 30, 2026. It lists withholding tax rates on imports, salaries, profits, and other matters.
FBR states that income up to 6 lakh rupees is tax-free, while income over 70 lakh rupees is taxed at 35%. Different rates are also set for motor vehicles, electricity, and internet.
This step is taken to facilitate taxpayers, withholding agents, and other stakeholders. The information in this card cannot be used as a legal document.
It is noteworthy that FBR updates withholding tax rates annually according to the Finance Act to improve the tax system.
