Berlin: (RightNow) A German medical technology company has developed a smart toilet seat. This seat can examine heartbeats in just 30 seconds and detect irregularities.

According to the report, the ‘Haro ECG Seat’ resembles a regular toilet seat but is equipped with sensors. These sensors capture electrical signals from the body, recording a 6-lead ECG and sending results to a mobile app via Bluetooth.

The company states that after a 30-second recording, the mobile app analyzes the heartbeats. Initial research shows the seat’s results closely match those of a traditional 12-lead ECG.

Atrial fibrillation is a common type of irregular heartbeat that can increase stroke risk. Therefore, regularly recording heartbeats is crucial for identifying this condition.

It is important to note that experts have clarified that the device’s results should not be considered a definitive medical diagnosis. The research findings have not yet been independently published.
