Karachi: (RightNow) The Sindh provincial cabinet, led by the Chief Minister, has approved a 7.5% increase in the minimum wage for workers. According to the spokesperson, the new wage system will be effective from July 1, 2026.

Under the cabinet’s decision, the minimum monthly wage for unskilled workers has been raised from Rs 40,000 to Rs 43,000. Wages for semi-skilled, skilled, and highly skilled workers have also been increased.

The spokesperson stated that these wages will apply to all notified industrial and commercial establishments across Sindh. The aim of this initiative is to ensure effective implementation of the wage system.

The Chief Minister of Sindh stated that the government is committed to the welfare and economic security of workers. Reforms are being implemented to protect workers’ interests.

It is noteworthy that the provincial cabinet has also approved other significant decisions related to health, justice, and workers’ welfare.
