Karachi: (RightNow) The presence of the polio virus has been confirmed in 6 districts of Karachi. These districts include Central, East, Kemari, Malir, South, and West.

The National Emergency Operations Center for Polio reported that no traces of the virus were found in these districts in June. However, during July, the virus was also detected in Kashmore district of Sindh.

In Balochistan, the virus has been confirmed in the districts of Chaman, Dera Bugti, and Quetta. The same situation prevails in Bannu and Peshawar in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In Punjab, the city of Rawalpindi also detected the polio virus in environmental samples during July. This situation poses a challenge to efforts aimed at eradicating polio.

It is important to note that the eradication of the polio virus has been a significant health issue in Pakistan. Numerous campaigns have been conducted across the country to combat it.
