Islamabad: (RightNow) The Pakistani passport has improved by two ranks in the global standings, now positioned at 101st. According to the Henley Passport Index 2026, Pakistani passport holders can travel visa-free to 29 countries.

This ranking is released by Henley & Partners, which reviews 199 passports and 227 destinations. The strength of a passport is determined by the number of countries allowing visa-free entry.

Despite the improvement, Pakistan remains among the world’s weakest passports, ranking only above Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan.

In the region, India ranks 81st with visa-free access to 55 destinations. Bangladesh is 97th and Nepal 98th, placing Pakistan behind them.

It is noteworthy that the Henley Passport Index is based on IATA data and serves as a crucial reference for policymakers worldwide.
