Islamabad: (RightNow) The Foreign Office spokesperson states India cannot reject the Indus Waters Treaty decision. This decision, given by the International Arbitration Court, supports Pakistan’s stance.

The spokesperson revealed that on August 31, a committee meeting on the Makkah Agreement took place in Istanbul. Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey agreed to collaborate. The secretariat for this cooperation will be established in Saudi Arabia, with Pakistan assuming the Secretary-General role for three years.

He mentioned that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met the Iranian President in Bishkek. Pakistan continues its efforts to resolve the Iran-U.S. conflict. Progress in talks can occur when both parties come to the negotiation table.

The spokesperson further stated that India’s rejection of the Indus Waters Treaty decision violates international laws. India cannot selectively accept or reject international decisions based on convenience.

It is noteworthy that there is no information on the arrival of an international expert team to review the Indus Waters Treaty. China’s special representative for Afghanistan met with the Pakistani ambassador in Islamabad.
