Karachi: (RightNow) Industrial power consumption by K-Electric in Karachi has reached a record high. This increase is attributed to the surge in economic activities in the country.
During the fiscal year 2026, electricity consumption on K-Electric’s industrial feeders reached 6.8 billion units. This marks the highest usage in any fiscal year in K-Electric’s history.
K-Electric stated that this development reflects their commitment to providing uninterrupted power to Karachi’s industries. The GDP growth rate stood at 3.7%.
Declaring Karachi as the economic backbone of the country, K-Electric’s CEO attributed the rise in power usage to the joint efforts of the government and the industrial community.
It is noteworthy that since 2013, industrial feeders have been exempt from load shedding to ensure uninterrupted industrial production. This progress will aid in continuing the country’s economic development journey.
