Jerusalem: (Right Now News) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has claimed that some Christian-majority villages in southern Lebanon wish to become part of Israel. These villages reportedly seek to affiliate with Israel to remain safe from Hezbollah.

Netanyahu told American broadcaster Fox News that these villages view Israel as a source of protection. However, the villages have rejected this claim, stating they have not requested to join Israel.

The southern Lebanese villages have clarified their loyalty to their Lebanese identity and flag. They stated that no individual or entity has the authority to join Israel.

It is important to note that a few days ago, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun expressed support for negotiations with Israel. He stated that Lebanese land would not be given to Israel, although it was unclear which villages he referred to.

Israel has established a security zone by occupying some areas in southern Lebanon. During this period, several Lebanese villages have been affected by Israeli attacks.
