Islamabad: (RightNow) The government has increased the prices of petroleum products, announcing new rates for petrol and high-speed diesel. The Ministry of Petroleum Division has issued a notification stating that the price of petrol has been raised by Rs 1.85 per liter.

The new price of petrol is now Rs 377.91 per liter, while high-speed diesel has increased by Rs 1.75 to Rs 399.82 per liter. According to the notification, the new prices will be effective from midnight tonight.

The Petroleum Division stated that this change in prices is linked to the global market rates of petrol and diesel. The government adjusts prices considering plot rates, premiums, and other expenses.

These price hikes could further increase inflationary pressures on the public. The ongoing adjustments in petroleum product prices continue to burden the citizens.

It is noteworthy that due to the Middle East crisis, the government determines petroleum prices on a daily basis. There have been several changes in prices over the past few months.
