Pat Cummins dismisses concerns about new revelations in Usman Khawaja’s book on the ball-tampering scandal.
Sydney: (RightNow) Australian captain Pat Cummins states he has no concerns about new revelations on the ball-tampering scandal in former teammate Usman Khawaja’s autobiography. Khawaja has informed Cummins about the book, which will be published in November.
Details reveal that Australia will begin a Test series against South Africa in Durban on Friday. This will be their first tour since the 2018 Cape Town Test.
It is noteworthy that the scandal involved bans for Steve Smith, David Warner, and Cameron Bancroft. Bancroft was caught using sandpaper on the ball.
Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Nathan Lyon have consistently stated they were unaware of the plan beforehand. They issued a joint statement in 2021, claiming they learned about the incident on TV.
Cummins emphasized that Khawaja has every right to tell his story, and the team’s focus is on moving beyond the past and concentrating on leadership.
