Lahore: (RightNow) The Lahore High Court has issued e-filing rules for property cases involving overseas Pakistanis. Chief Justice Alia Neelum announced these rules, which will apply to special courts handling overseas Pakistanis’ property matters.

According to the Lahore High Court registrar’s notification, the new rules are formulated under the Punjab Establishment of Special Courts (Overseas Pakistani Property) Act 2025. These rules will enable electronic filing, hearings, and digitalization of court records.

Under the new rules, applications, documents, and affidavits can be submitted on the Lahore High Court’s approved portal. After filing, applicants will receive an electronic receipt and a filing number.

Lawyers and parties must register on the portal, and the court will have the authority to conduct proceedings electronically. Filed documents must be acceptable, readable, and uploaded in the prescribed format.

It is important to note that these rules aim to improve access and transparency for overseas Pakistanis in courts. Video link hearings are also provided to ensure justice is served.
