Hangzhou: (RightNow) Pakistan secures its first medal at the Asian Games 2026. Karachi’s Asim Khan clinched a bronze medal in mixed martial arts semifinals.

Asim Khan received the bronze medal following a semifinal defeat, as per the rules. The medal ceremony is scheduled for tomorrow.

Team leader Dilawar Khan stated that Asim has opened Pakistan’s medal tally. There is hope for further success in upcoming events.

It is noteworthy that this is Asim’s first medal at the Asian Games, although he has previously won a World Bronze and an Asian Silver medal.

Meanwhile, other Pakistani athletes performed below expectations. Hamza Asif secured second place in the swimming heat, and Pakistan finished last in the triathlon.
