Lahore: (RightNow) Federal Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik has warned of a potential increase in petrol prices. If a shortage occurs, the price could reach Rs 1,000 per liter.

Ali Pervaiz Malik stated that there is currently no petrol shortage in the country. However, global oil prices have surged by 80%, while Pakistan has only increased prices by 50%.

He mentioned that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has kept petrol prices under control. Gas supply to the public will be ensured during winter, even if more gas needs to be purchased.

The Federal Minister further stated that Jamaat-e-Islami should refrain from politicizing public hardships. Awareness of the country’s challenges has been raised, and efforts to discover oil are ongoing.

It is noteworthy that rising petrol prices have caused public unrest. The government is making efforts to address this issue.
