Karachi: (RightNow) Pakistan’s textile exports have reached $18 billion, marking the highest level in 4 years. The Pakistan Textile Council released its first annual export performance report for the fiscal year 2025-26.

According to the report, textile exports increased by 0.3%, while overall national exports declined by 5.9%. The textile sector’s share in national exports rose to 60%.

Apparel and home textile made-ups accounted for 83.2% of textile exports. Raw material exports decreased by 3.4%, while non-knit apparel exports increased by 3.9%.

The European Union remained the largest market for Pakistani textile products, with significant exports also to the USA and UK. Exports to China and Bangladesh also saw an increase.

It is noteworthy that the Pakistan Textile Council has proposed 11 phased recommendations to improve export competitiveness, including tax system improvements and competitive energy rates.
