Islamabad: (RightNow) The Finance Ministry has decided to restrict budget grants under the $7 billion IMF fund program conditions. Additional expenses beyond the parliament-approved budget will not be prioritized, except for natural disasters.

The ministry’s budget wing has devised a new strategy for reallocating funds and acquiring additional funds during the fiscal year. This strategy emphasizes the efficient use of the budget.

Where fund provision is not possible through reallocation or Technical Supplementary Grant (TSG), relevant officers must present solid justifications for supplementary grants. These justifications must be acceptable.

These instructions will apply to all principal accounting officers, departments, institutions, and subordinate offices in the current and upcoming fiscal years. These principles will enable better budget planning.

It is noteworthy that the government is taking various measures under the IMF program to stabilize the economy and maintain financial discipline.
