Islamabad: (RightNow) The Islamabad Bar Association has strongly reacted to the re-arrest of Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha. The association has announced a complete boycott of federal capital courts on September 19 in protest.

According to the Bar Association, the re-arrest of both lawyers, despite Supreme Court bail, is against the sanctity of the judiciary. The Supreme Court had suspended their sentences and granted bail on September 17, but they were re-arrested hours later.

The association states that this arrest violates fundamental rights and expresses concerns over arrests under unknown FIRs (First Information Reports). The Bar has deemed attempts to undermine court orders unacceptable.

The association demands the immediate release of Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali and urges for the arrest details to be made public. As a protest, lawyers will not appear in courts on September 19.

It is noteworthy that the association is committed to taking all possible steps for the independence of the judiciary and the protection of human rights, highlighting the significant role of the legal community.
