Pakistan condemns Houthi drone attack on Makkah, expresses solidarity with Saudi Arabia.
Makkah: (RightNow) Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal have strongly condemned the Houthi drone attack attempt. They stated that this attack violates Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and insults Muslims’ religious sentiments.
Ishaq Dar emphasized that Pakistan stands with Saudi Arabia for the sanctity and protection of the Holy Mosques. He noted that the Houthi attack poses a threat to regional peace and praised Saudi forces for intercepting the attack.
The Saudi military coalition reported that the drone was intercepted before entering Makkah’s restricted airspace. They affirmed that the protection of the two Holy Mosques is a red line.
Ahsan Iqbal declared that targeting Makkah is unacceptable, and there can be no compromise on the safety of pilgrims. He expressed complete solidarity with Saudi Arabia’s security and sovereignty.
It is noteworthy that abandoning the path of tension and violence is essential for peace and stability in the region. Pakistan remains committed to working with Muslim countries to find solutions for the protection of Saudi Arabia and the Holy Sites.
