Islamabad: (RightNow) Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal reports that women’s mobile internet usage in Pakistan has reached 45%. He made this statement during an economy forum in Islamabad.

Ahsan Iqbal further stated that the number of digital users in the country has surpassed 150 million. He noted that data usage has increased by approximately 25% over the past two years.

He mentioned that the number of fiber connections has exceeded 5 million, with a target to extend wired broadband to 10 million homes. The gender gap in mobile internet usage has now narrowed to 8%.

The Federal Minister emphasized the importance of women’s inclusion in digital progress, noting that IT exports have reached $4.6 billion.

It is noteworthy that the next target is set to promote the development of technology products and digital platforms in Pakistan.
