Apple unveils iPhone 18 series and raises prices of older models due to increased component costs.
Cupertino: (RightNow) Apple introduced the new iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the foldable iPhone Duo on September 9.
Typically, the release of new iPhones leads to a price drop in older models, but this year Apple has increased the prices of its older models.
Apple has significantly raised the prices of iPhone 16, 17, 17E, and iPhone Air, making them more expensive than their initial prices.
This price hike is the largest change in Apple’s older iPhone pricing since 2007, attributed to rising costs of chips and components, according to Tim Cook.
Notably, the price of iPhone 17E has increased from $599 to $699, iPhone 17 from $799 to $899, and iPhone Air from $999 to $1099.
