Islamabad: (RightNow) The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has increased electricity prices. An official notification has been issued regarding this decision.
According to the notification, the price per unit of electricity has been raised by Rs 2.08. As a result, consumers will have to pay additional amounts in their September bills.
This price hike will be applied to September bills, leading to an expected increase in consumers’ monthly electricity expenses.
The notification states that this increase is made under the prescribed procedure, and the financial burden will be borne by electricity consumers.
It is noteworthy that this increase in electricity rates will further raise expenses for consumers already paying higher bills due to ongoing changes.
