Swat: (RightNow) Jamaat-e-Islami leader Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman warns the government of daily nationwide sit-ins if the petroleum levy is not abolished. He states that protests will expand if relief is not provided to the public.

Hafiz Naeem addressed a rally in Swat, highlighting the historic strike from Karachi to Chitral as a testament to public power. He noted that the people of Malakand Division supported Jamaat-e-Islami, making this movement a voice for the common people.

He further mentioned that due to the petroleum levy, everything has become expensive, with the public paying 35% more for petrol. He accused the government of robbing the people’s pockets.

It is noteworthy that in the past, the people of Malakand Division were given tax relief. Hafiz Naeem stated that the government must now address the basic issues of the public.

He announced that if the demands are not met, the protests will intensify, leading to a wheel-jam strike followed by a march on foot, with demonstrations across the country.
