Rawalpindi: (RightNow) Under the leadership of CPO Hassan Mushtaq Sukhaira, strict accountability is ongoing in Rawalpindi Police. Constable Ehtisham, involved in assaulting a citizen at Gujar Khan police station, has been dismissed from the department.

The constable had struck a person in the face with a shoe during a dispute between two parties at the station. Following the emergence of the incident’s video, immediate action was taken, and the constable was suspended.

CPO issued a charge sheet against the constable after suspending him. Following an inquiry, Constable Ehtisham has been dismissed from the department.

CPO Hassan Mushtaq Sukhaira stated that mistreatment or assault of citizens will not be tolerated. Strict departmental action will be taken on such complaints.

It is noteworthy that this accountability action in the police is initiated to ensure the protection of citizens’ rights. A zero-tolerance policy is adopted against mistreatment or assault of citizens.
