Riyadh: (RightNow) Saudi Arabia is set to launch its first five-star luxury train in December 2026. Announced in early 2025, the train is developed in collaboration with Saudi Railways and Italy’s Arsenale Group.

The train, known as ‘Dream of the Desert,’ will travel an 800-mile route from Riyadh to the city of Qurayyat. It features 14 carriages with 33 luxurious rooms, each showcasing elements of Saudi culture.

According to the Saudi Railway Company, the train will offer tourists and local residents the opportunity to explore more regional destinations in Saudi Arabia. It can accommodate 66 passengers, providing tours ranging from one to three nights.

This will be the Middle East’s first five-star luxury train, part of Saudi Arabia’s tourism projects. It allows tourists to visit UNESCO World Heritage sites.

It is noteworthy that this luxury train service is a significant step by Saudi Arabia to promote tourism and highlight the country’s cultural significance on a global scale.
