Islamabad: (RightNow) The resignation of Dr. Muhammad Riaz Shahbaz Janjua, Chairman of the Islamabad Healthcare Regulatory Authority (IHRA), has been accepted. The Federal Ministry of Health has issued a notification, effective from August 31.

According to the notification, Dr. Muhammad Riaz Shahbaz Janjua’s membership in the IHRA Board has also ended. The federal cabinet has approved his resignation, and he is no longer the Chairman of IHRA.

The Federal Ministry of Health has instructed Dr. Muhammad Riaz Shahbaz Janjua to immediately vacate the position of IHRA Chairman. This decision was made under the Islamabad Healthcare Regulation Act 2018.

This decision is significant as it marks a step towards further regulatory reforms in the healthcare sector. Following Dr. Riaz’s departure, the appointment of a new chairman is anticipated.

It is noteworthy that IHRA was established to ensure quality and transparency in the healthcare sector. Dr. Riaz had rendered significant services to the organization.
