Islamabad: (RightNow) Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry stated that the PIMS fire inquiry report is preliminary and the committee’s work is not yet complete. He further clarified that there is no attempt to shield the Health Minister, and facts will emerge once the inquiry is concluded.

Tariq Fazal Chaudhry emphasized that there has been no shortage of funds or staff at PIMS. If the required funds were not provided, questions would arise as to why the Health Minister did not allocate them.

He revealed that during the inquiry meeting, the Health Minister offered his resignation to the Prime Minister, but Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif advised against resigning until the inquiry is complete.

Tariq Fazal stated that the current report should not be considered final as the inquiry committee’s work is ongoing. The government will allow the inquiry process to be completed to bring the facts to light.

It is important to note that records related to hospital funds, facilities, and manpower are also part of the inquiry. The future course of action will be determined after the final report of the committee is released.
