Research shows the keto diet can effectively treat Type 2 diabetes and improve liver health.
Washington: (RightNow) A significant breakthrough has emerged in the complete treatment of Type 2 diabetes. Research indicates that high blood sugar can be fully managed through a keto diet.
Experts have found that low-carbohydrate diets, particularly the keto diet, are proving effective for patients with Type 2 diabetes. According to the study, the keto diet aids in weight loss and better blood sugar control.
The study involved 42 participants divided into three groups. One group followed the keto diet, another the Mediterranean diet, and the third a low-fat diet. Over 5 months, the keto diet group achieved the best results.
The use of the keto diet reduced liver fat by up to 67%. Other groups showed lesser reductions. The keto diet significantly improved liver health without increasing cholesterol levels.
It is important to note that Type 2 diabetes is a chronic disease that requires lifestyle changes for management. This new research could aid in the treatment of the disease.
