Muzaffarabad: (RightNow) Barrister Iftikhar Gilani has taken oath as the 17th Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir. He emphasizes collective efforts to make Kashmir an exemplary region.

Iftikhar Gilani states that development, transparent governance, and meritocracy are top priorities for his government. He outlined these goals in his inaugural address.

In his first speech, the Prime Minister reaffirmed Kashmir’s ties with Pakistan and emphasized the right to self-determination under UN resolutions. He also condemned Indian actions.

Iftikhar Gilani announced initiatives for public welfare, job creation, health improvement, and provision of basic facilities. He expressed his commitment to making Azad Kashmir an exemplary region.

It is noteworthy that on August 5, 2019, India attempted to revoke Kashmir’s special status, which was met with strong reactions from Azad Kashmir.
