Over 22,000 people joined Spain’s La Tomatina Festival, boosting global tourism.
Valencia: (RightNow) The La Tomatina Festival took place in the Spanish town of Buñol. Over 22,000 people participated, engaging in a massive tomato fight.
During the festival, approximately 165 tons of tomatoes were used. Participants dressed in white ended up covered in pink and red hues.
Organizers reported that 40% of this year’s attendees came from various countries. Police ensured safety measures were in place.
This festival has become a significant part of Spanish culture. Tourists from around the world attend, boosting Spain’s tourism.
It is noteworthy that La Tomatina began in 1945. The festival is held annually on the last Wednesday of August and has become a global attraction.
