London: (RightNow) Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar met with Commonwealth Secretary-General Shirley Botchway in London. The meeting focused on cooperation between Pakistan and the Commonwealth.

During the meeting, Ishaq Dar highlighted Pakistan’s extensive experience in handling natural disasters. He proposed establishing a Commonwealth Disaster Resilience Hub in Islamabad.

Ishaq Dar emphasized institutional cooperation in the banking sector to boost trade. The Secretary-General welcomed Pakistan’s proposal and expressed a desire to enhance collaboration.

The meeting also agreed on increasing cooperation for youth development and climate stability. Both countries committed to further activities.

It is noteworthy that Pakistan is a founding member of the Commonwealth and has mediated for peace in the Middle East. The Commonwealth has praised Pakistan for this role.
