Karachi: (RightNow). The Sindh Assembly continues its debate on the creation of new provinces and administrative units for the second day. PPP member Samata Afzal stated that she opposes the division of Sindh, emphasizing that from Karachi to Kashmore, Sindh is their red line.

Samata Afzal mentioned that discussions on dividing Sindh should not occur, as some individuals aspire to become Chief Minister. MQM Pakistan member Iftikhar Alam highlighted that this issue is not limited to one province or city but concerns Pakistan’s state institutions.

Iftikhar Alam argued that administrative units should not be viewed politically, clarifying that they are not advocating for Sindh’s division but for immediate and transparent governance for citizens. PPP member Hassan Ali Shah noted that a two-thirds majority in the assembly is required to create a province, and Sindh’s division is never acceptable.

PTI member Owais Ahmed questioned why Nisar Ahmed Khuhro moved a motion to adjourn and refused to accept the constitutional amendment. PPP member Farooq Awan stated that dividing Sindh is not the solution to problems; they need education in Sindh.

It is noteworthy that the debate on the establishment of new provinces continues in the Sindh Assembly, with members from various parties expressing their views. Differences between PPP and MQM are evident in their opposition to Sindh’s division.
