PCB issues show cause notice to selection committee member over Rizwan and Imam’s selection, seeking performance clarification.
Lahore: (RightNow) The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued a show cause notice to a selection committee member over the selection of wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan and opener Imam-ul-Haq. The notice was issued by Chief Operating Officer Sameer Ahmed Syed.
The PCB has demanded a response from the selection committee member within 24 hours. Sources indicate objections were raised regarding player selections for the West Indies and England tours.
The PCB has instructed that this matter be resolved urgently. Sources say the selection committee member has been asked to provide reasons and performance details for the player selections.
This issue arose following the cricket team’s continuous defeats against England. The PCB made several changes to the squad before the third test, including changes in the coaching staff.
It is noteworthy that Misbah-ul-Haq also resigned from the selection committee. He stated that he was not consulted on player selections for the England tour, leading to his decision to step down.
