Islamabad: (RightNow) PPP Vice President Sherry Rehman expresses deep sorrow over the death of 14 newborns in PIMS Hospital’s nursery. She demands a transparent investigation and accountability for those responsible.

Sherry Rehman states the loss of children’s lives is extremely painful. She questions why safety measures were ineffective and says suspending the Health Secretary does not resolve the issue.

Questions have been raised about the measures taken for newborns’ safety. Sherry Rehman asks why the PIMS gate was closed and where the doctors were. She insists these questions must be answered publicly.

PPP leader Nayyar Bukhari also expresses concern over the tragedy. He states the Ministry of Health should have monitored PIMS administration’s performance, calling it a question mark on administrative efficiency.

It is noteworthy that following the death of 14 newborns, the Prime Minister suspended the Health Secretary. PPP demands a complete investigation and action against those guilty of negligence.
