Islamabad: (RightNow) Social media claims Dr. Usman Anwar is appointed as IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. However, no official appointment has been made.

According to available official records, Dr. Usman Anwar currently holds the position of DG FIA. He was assigned this role in February 2026 after being removed from IG Punjab.

No official announcement has been made regarding any leadership change in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police. Zulfiqar Hameed has been serving as IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since January 2025.

There is no official document supporting the claims of Dr. Usman Anwar’s new appointment. Therefore, the claim is baseless and misleading.
