Punjab Completes Delimitation for Local Elections, Record Sent to Election Commission

Punjab has completed delimitation for local elections, sending records to the Election Commission. Lahore’s union councils increased to 433.

Lahore: (RightNow) The delimitation process for local elections in Punjab is complete. The records of the completed delimitations have been sent to the Election Commission of Pakistan.

The delimitation work began on April 20, 2026. During this period, over 150 objections were filed by citizens.

In Lahore, 433 union councils have been established. Shalimar Town has 72, Ravi Town 52, and Wagah Town 25 union councils.

Model Town has 77, Nishtar Town 40, and City Town 69 union councils. The number of union councils in Lahore increased from 274 in 2015 to 433 now.

It is noteworthy that with the record sent to the Election Commission, an important phase towards local elections in Punjab is complete.
