Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directs immediate flood relief measures, enhancing coordination with provincial bodies.
Islamabad: (RightNow) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with the Chairman of NDMA. During the meeting, a briefing was given on the flood situation and the aid and rehabilitation of affected individuals across the country.
Chairman NDMA, Lieutenant General Inam Haider, informed the Prime Minister about the weather conditions and ongoing relief activities. The Prime Minister instructed the use of all available resources for aiding flood victims.
The Prime Minister also directed NDMA to maintain effective communication with provincial institutions and PDMAs. He praised the use of modern technology at the National Emergency Operation Center.
These measures will enhance relief operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir. Relief activities will be accelerated as per the Prime Minister’s instructions.
It is noteworthy that recent monsoon rains in Pakistan have caused devastating floods, affecting several regions.
