Lahore: (RightNow) A father and son accused of killing police officers were killed in a police encounter in Lahore. The suspects had previously shot and killed 3 officers in Badami Bagh and Nawan Kot, injuring others.

According to police, suspects Rehan Butt and Fayyaz Butt fled after the shooting, stealing a government vehicle. Near Sheikhupura Ravi Riyan, they abandoned the vehicle and took a family hostage in a house.

Police reported that the suspects fired indiscriminately at the police team to avoid arrest. During the exchange of fire, both suspects were killed.

This incident is significant as the suspects attempted to disrupt peace by attacking police officers. It raised questions about police performance and citizen safety.

It is noteworthy that the suspects had killed Sub-Inspector Adeel and Head Constable Asad in Badami Bagh, and Officer Haris in Nawan Kot. Police are working to improve the condition of the three injured officers.
