Islamabad: (RightNow) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announces distribution of laptops to 7 lakh deserving students on merit. The announcement was made during a speech on International Youth Day, where he also introduced the first employment policy for youth.

The Prime Minister promised a 10% quota for startups annually. He stated that past laptop distributions faced bribery allegations, but now they are awarded on merit.

He further emphasized that development is impossible without providing modern educational opportunities to youth. Laptops are given as a mission to help youth progress.

Shehbaz Sharif announced the expansion of Daanish Schools to other provinces and promised to establish Daanish University in Islamabad next year.

It is noteworthy that past laptop distributions faced several objections, but the government now prioritizes merit to advance this initiative.
