Karachi: (RightNow) Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has clarified that the division of Sindh is unacceptable. He stated that the Sindh Assembly has repeatedly passed resolutions in favor of the province’s unity.

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah responded to Mustafa Kamal’s statement, asserting that a resolution for division will never be passed by a two-thirds majority in the Sindh Assembly. He deemed such a change impossible under the current constitution.

He further mentioned that while the people of Sindh can pass a resolution whenever they wish, this issue is not in the province’s interest. He emphasized the importance of the Sindh Assembly.

The opposition to Sindh’s division has led to various allegations against the Pakistan People’s Party. Murad Ali Shah noted that resolutions for two new provinces in Punjab have been passed, but constitutional amendments are required.
