Peshawar: (RightNow) Questions are being raised about the educational standards in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Peshawar Board’s matric exam success rate has significantly declined over three years.

According to statistics, in 2024, 86,789 students took the exam, with 76,090 passing, resulting in an 87.6% success rate.

In 2025, 91,589 students participated, with 76,484 passing, bringing the success rate down to 83.5%.

In 2026, 95,496 candidates appeared, but only 66,988 succeeded, further reducing the success rate to 70.15%.

It is noteworthy that compared to 2024, there has been a 17.6% decrease in the success rate over three years. In the ninth-grade Islamic Studies paper, 9,294 students failed.
