Peshawar: (RightNow) Four judges of the Peshawar High Court are unable to perform judicial duties due to the President’s delay in signing the summary. The Judicial Commission approved their permanent appointments on July 20.

Peshawar: The judges awaiting confirmation include Justice Farah Jamshed, Justice Inamullah Khan, Justice Sabitullah Khan, and Justice Aurangzeb. According to court sources, they cannot perform judicial work until they take a new oath.

Peshawar: President of the High Court Bar Association, Amin Rehman Yousafzai Advocate, stated that the authority to confirm judges lies with the President after the Judicial Commission’s approval. However, the President has yet to sign the notification.

Peshawar: Amin Rehman mentioned that the President previously extended the judges’ terms but is now withholding his signature on the summary. This issue is affecting the court’s performance and is being politicized.

It is noteworthy that the President had previously signed a summary granting a six-month extension to the judges. There is a demand for immediate signing of the summary for their permanent appointments.
