Swat: (RightNow) The death toll in the suicide blast in Swat’s Kabal area has reached 17. Among the deceased are 7 police officers and 10 civilians, with 23 others injured. A case has been registered regarding the attack.

Rescue sources report that injured police constable Mukarram Khan succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. He was under treatment at Saidu Sharif Hospital.

Initial investigations have classified the explosion as a suicide attack, with the attacker’s head found at the scene. The bomb disposal squad is assessing the nature of the blast, and a search operation is ongoing in the area.

According to police, initial evidence suggests the attacker may be an Afghan national. However, final confirmation will be made after the investigation is complete.

It is noteworthy that after the Swat blast, the funeral prayers for the martyred police officers were held with state honors.
