New Delhi: (RightNow) Monsoon rains and floods in India have caused widespread devastation, resulting in 62 deaths across various incidents.

According to Indian media, floods have displaced over 7 lakh people across 12 districts, with the government taking steps to assist the affected.

In the eastern state of Assam, river flooding has submerged over 900 villages, and 3 lakh people have been relocated to safer areas.

Flood conditions persist in cities like Gujarat and Guwahati, where relief operations are ongoing.

It is noteworthy that India experiences significant damage from monsoon rains annually, with the situation lasting for several weeks.
