Lahore: (RightNow) Freight train derailments in Sahiwal and Sukkur divisions lead to the cancellation of 8 passenger trains. Pakistan Railways fails to clear the main line in time, causing significant inconvenience to travelers.

According to Pakistan Railways, freight train carriages derailed at various locations on Saturday and Sunday. Railway traffic on the main line from Lahore and Faisalabad to Karachi and Quetta remained suspended.

The departures of eight trains, including Karakoram Express, Pak Business Express, Karachi Express, and Millat Express, were canceled. The departure of the Green Line Express from Margalla to Karachi was also affected.

Railway authorities have offered full refunds to affected passengers. Refunds can be collected from the Lahore reservation office. Passenger facilitation staff will be present at stations.

It is noteworthy that railway traffic was suspended last evening due to a freight train derailment. After restoration, both up and down tracks have been cleared for train movement.
