A freight train derailment in Sindh has suspended the Karachi to Punjab train service. Railway officials have announced refunds for passengers.
Matiari: (RightNow) A freight train derailed at Wahab Shah Railway Station. The accident caused 17 carriages to overturn, suspending train services between Karachi and Punjab.
Railway authorities initiated emergency measures upon receiving news of the accident. Passenger trains were halted at various stations.
Safety measures for passengers were implemented following the accident. The Karakoram Express was evacuated in Hyderabad, while other trains were stopped at different stations.
According to railway officials, track restoration may take 24 hours. All affected trains have been canceled.
It is noteworthy that passengers have been offered refunds. DS Railway Sukkur, Farman Ghani, stated that efforts to repair the track are ongoing.
