Federal Minister Hanif Abbasi announced a historic 115 billion rupees profit for Pakistan Railways, setting a 65 billion rupees target for the next fiscal year.
Islamabad: (Right Now News) Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi announced that Pakistan Railways has achieved a profit of 115 billion rupees for the first time in its 78-year history. A target of 65 billion rupees profit has been set for the next fiscal year.
Hanif Abbasi informed the media that 80 power plants will be integrated into Pakistan Railways by March 23. Revenue of 3 billion rupees has been generated from the privatization of five trains, with further privatizations ongoing.
The Federal Minister stated that Pakistan Railways has earned 41 billion rupees from the freight sector for the first time. Effective use of available rolling stock has yielded positive results.
It is noteworthy that the ML-1, ML-2, and ML-3 projects are crucial for Pakistan Railways. Discussions with the Asian Development Bank regarding ML-1 are ongoing, with an inauguration expected soon.
He mentioned that after privatizing railway schools and hospitals, employees will receive medical facilities up to 2.5 million rupees. Compared to last year, accidents have decreased this year.
