Riyadh: (RightNow) Saudi Arabia issued an alert in Riyadh and Al-Kharj due to a potential Houthi attack. The Saudi Civil Defense later lifted the alert as the threat subsided. On Friday night, warnings were also issued in Jeddah, Taif, and Yanbu.

The Houthi group claimed to have thwarted Saudi attacks and threatened retaliation. In response, the Saudi government issued warnings for Al-Ula, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, Abha, and Farasan, which were later retracted.

The Saudi Ministry of Interior advised citizens to verify information before sharing on social media. The Saudi Civil Defense stated that the threat in Riyadh has passed, urging citizens to remain cautious and call 911 in emergencies.

It is important to note that Yemeni Houthis have launched a series of attacks on Saudi Arabia, resulting in multiple casualties. Recently, a drone attack attempt in Taif was intercepted and destroyed mid-air.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, a Houthi drone attack resulted in the death of a Yemeni citizen and injured two others, including a Pakistani national.
