Paris: (RightNow) France has offered assistance to protect Saudi Arabia’s energy facilities. France states its role will be purely defensive and will not involve participation in the conflict against the Houthis.

According to a French diplomatic source, France will cooperate in securing the energy infrastructure in the Saudi city of Yanbu. This step is being taken to defend Saudi energy installations.

Yanbu is a crucial port where Aramco’s facilities are located. The Houthis have recently claimed attacks on these installations.

Saudi Arabia’s 1,200-kilometer East-West pipeline has been temporarily shut down following drone attacks. This pipeline is considered a vital route for global oil supply.

It is noteworthy that Saudi Arabia faces new security challenges for its energy facilities due to Houthi attacks.
