Islamabad: (RightNow) Pakistan and China have activated a joint border commission. This commission is established to improve border management between the two countries.

The first meeting of this commission was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad. The meeting was chaired by China’s Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Li Ya, and Pakistan’s Director General of the Foreign Office, Bilal Mahmood Chaudhry.

According to the Foreign Office, this commission will aid in border management, trade, and the promotion of public contacts. This platform was established under the 2013 border agreement and is now officially active.

Officials state that this initiative will strengthen cooperation in trade through the Khunjerab Pass and CPEC matters. The commission will focus on resolving practical issues rather than border disputes.

It is noteworthy that this commission will play a crucial role in maintaining border markers and managing cross-border facilities between Pakistan and China.
