Sanaa: (RightNow) Houthi forces claim to have shot down a Saudi F-15 fighter jet in Yemeni airspace. The incident occurred near Jabal Hilan in the Marib province.

Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree stated the attack was executed using a locally-made surface-to-air missile. Houthi forces also accused Saudi Arabia of conducting 450 attacks in Yemen.

Saudi authorities have not confirmed the Houthi forces’ claim, and no statement has been issued by the Saudi-led military coalition. Houthi leaders have denied allegations of targeting Mecca as false.

This incident is part of the growing tensions between the Yemeni people and Saudi Arabia. Houthi forces have expressed their intent to target Saudi oil facilities and military bases.

It is noteworthy that airstrikes between Yemeni Houthis and Saudi Arabia have intensified. The Saudi military coalition previously intercepted and destroyed a Houthi drone entering Mecca’s airspace.
